The Markel/USEF Young Horse Dressage Selection Trials concluded the 2007 qualifying season for the FEI World Breeding Championships at the CDI-W/Y/J Raleigh and Capital Dressage Classic, June 1–3 in Raleigh, NC.

Winning both the Preliminary and Final Tests with an overall score of 8.240 secured the Five-Year-Old Selection Trial Championship for Cabana Boy (Contucci x Britania, by Bordeaux; bred in the United States by Doug and Shannon Langer). Cabana Boy is a bay Hanoverian gelding who was ridden by Christopher Hickey for Hilltop Farm, Inc., of Colora, MD. The reserve championship was awarded to the Central Selection Trial Champion, Solaris Hit (Sandro Hit x Great Rubina, by Rubinstein I; bred in Germany by Heinrich Giesselmann), a black Hanoverian mare, ridden by owner Rebecca Knollman of Maineville, OH, to an overall score of 8.088.

Champion of the six-year-Old division with an overall two-test score of 8.268 was Donavan (Diamond Hit x Boheme, by Consul; bred in Germany by Dr. Ursula Mittermayer). The bay Oldenburg stallion was ridden by Cesar Parra for owners Katie Riley and Jackson & Carolyne Morgan. Reserve Champion was Candace Tate’s Donnermuth (Don Bedo x Wonne, by Fichte; bred in Germany), a black Rheinlander gelding ridden by Jessica Jo Tate of Wisconsin to an overall score of 8.008.
